I worked for months, working 12- hours sanding floors, and tearing down wallpaper with the baby on my back and the others playing in the playpen. Ha! The home was beginning to look nice, but there was a lot that needed to be left. It would take an enormous amount of work and a love to shop. My sons, my husband and I were looking for the hidden treasures at estate sales to ensure that my spending was under control. Every week, we spent Thursday to Saturday at garage sales and estate sales purchasing old and brand new furniture. In the end, I painted and sanded in the driveway in the week. It was a bit like the picture below... That's the time my love of restoration of furniture started. After our home was fully furnished, I could not put it down! I had an area at the market to sell objects. In the end, I accumulated more items that I knew how to use them and outgrew the space. There were open houses at my house which saw over 1 000 guests came through on one weekend, and buy anything they saw on the ground floor. Growing Days was created in this house. Apart from my successful business, I also had the pleasure of growing our family. In a way, I found the ideal equilibrium between motherhood as well as starting my own business. If you'd told me that my business would be the premise for a DIY Network show, I might have thought you were crazy. Actually I still kind of laugh when I think about the idea.
