Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th in 1980) is an American actress, singer and dancer. In her early Broadway performances, she starred the role of Essie Carmichael in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She received an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Play to play Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with directors and actors in stage and on screen throughout the entirety of her professional career. Ashford in the near future will play opposite Kumail in Robert Siegel's Hulu-exclusive program Welcome to Chippendales which premieres the 22nd of November. Ashford's current project is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream through Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway return is scheduled to take place in March 2023 when he is paired with Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The group behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail is at the control of the production. Ashford's latest role was as Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the nationwide scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, as well as Linda Tripp. Her two-season stint on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first significant character. The series was created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. Also, it featured Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Her additional Broadway performances includes Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and her first role as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a Denver resident who splits her time in Los Angeles.
