Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 for an Olympic competition. Bela Karalyi came across Comaneci when she was six. She would later become the Romanian gymnastics coach. At first, she competed in the championships for juniors from Romania in 1969 she placed 13th. Then in the year 1970, she won. The first time she competed in an international event that was an Olympic-style junior preolympic competition for countries in the Communist bloc, she was awarded three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975, she won awarded the All-around Junior Champion. In her debut as a Senior in 1975, she beat Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva, the five-time European champ winning four golds and one argent. In 1976, she became the first female athlete in the world who used a double backwards salto to dismount from parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she began her career in the entertainment field by performing in the form of figure skater. Together with her twin brother Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol entered the entertainment industry when she was in her teens. Early on Carol was an ice figure skater in traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The shows were skaters who were accompanied by theatrical music.
